Zonia Clay age 86 of LaBelle, MO, passed away on August 12th, 2024 in La Belle MO.
Friends and family are invited to Zonia's Celebration of Life at a visitation from 4pm to 8 pm on Friday August 16th at Coder Funeral Home in La Belle MO.
A funeral ceremony will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 17th at Coder Funeral Home. Pastor James Salter will officiate. Burial will follow at the La Belle Cemetery.
Zonia was born November 14th, 1937 in Edina MO to Jessie and Leona Perkins. She married the love of her life, Robert (Boulder) Clay on February 11, 1956 in La Belle MO.
Survivors include a daughter, Tricie (Adalberto) Sanchez of Davie FL; son, Kyle (Beth) Clay of LaBelle MO; fifteen grandchildren, Marcus (Kristin) Dilligard of Knoxville TN, Gregory (Desarae) Dilligard of Williamstown MO, Phylicia (Herre) Manley of Chicago IL; Esteban Sanchez of Laurel Maryland, Adrienna Sanchez of Des Moines, IA, Gabriella of Sanchez Davie, FL, Jamae Humphrey of Armstrong MO, Kirsten Lehenbauer of Quincy IL, Shayla (Terron) Curry of Katy TX, Janae (Demetrius) Anderson of Waterloo IA, Dion Clay of Jacksonville FL, Jackie (Rahnn) Haggins of St. Albans NY, Cameron Clay of LaBelle MO, Geoff (Katherine) Westhoff of New London MO, Tamara (Kevin) Novel of Blue Springs MO; forty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Perkins of Canton MO, and Shiela Shaw of Quincy IL; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Zonia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter & son, Donna & Michael Dilligard; one brother, Michael Perkins; and three sisters, Circa Clay, Pat Dawson, and Debra Perkins.
Zonia loved the Lord, and was known as a true prayer warrior. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Martha K. Majors Club in Quincy IL. Zonia loved spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, and watching her grandchildren live life. Zonia worked at Prairie View/Country Aire Retirement Estate in Lewistown MO for over fifty years, a member of American Legion Auxiliary, and volunteered for the Northeast Missouri Food Bank for many years.
Pallbearers will be Marcus Dilligard, Gregory Dilligard, Cameron Clay, Geoff Westhoff, Kyle Clay, and Adalberto Sanchez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Esteban Sanchez, Roy Lewis Sr, LaVon Baker, Reggie Westhoff, Dan Simmons
The family would like to thank Hospice of Northeast Missouri for the wonderful care, Angie Clay for the support and knowledge, Ella Clay and Dee Raleigh for assisting with her homecare, as well as the many who have prayed for Zonia this year. She has indeed been healed.
