Woodrow (Woody) Wilson Smith, age 98 of LaBelle, MO passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, MO.
He was born in Rich Hill, MO, September 5, 1916, the son of Robert and Minnie Burk Smith.
His family moved to LaBelle in 1947, where he has lived since. He was a self-employed short distance truck driver and had been employed by Heinold Hog market. Woody was an avid Gardner and loved to share his produce with neighbor and friends.
Woody is survived by one sister, Leota Myers of Des Moines, IA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers Melvin, Jasper, Lem, Pat and Charlie and one sister Janice Sweet.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015, in the LaBelle Cemetery under the direction of the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
There will be no visitation.
