William Eugene "Bill" Walter, age 53, of LaBelle, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in Canton, MO.
He was born February 14, 1959, at Kirksville, MO, the son of Leo Ellis and Loretta Ruth Balfour Walter. He was united in marriage to Lisa D. Miller, on June 9, 1979, in LaBelle, MO and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2009. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Nancy Gaus.
Surviving are three children, Stephanie Keim and husband Doug of Canton, MO, Robbie Walter and wife Jeannie of LaBelle, MO, and Tiffanie May of Canton, MO, one sister Dianna Wilson and husband Sam of LaBelle, MO, grandchildren, Riley, Nataleigh and Clara Keim, Anthony, Michael and Joseph Walter, Remington May, Colten and Alyssa Walter, his mother-in-law, Jean Miller of LaBelle, MO, a sister-in-law Debbie Sharpe of Des Moines, IA, and three brothers-in-law, Larry Miller and wife Tami of Ewing, MO, Tom Miller and wife Mary of Quincy, IL, and Phil Gaus of Kirksville, MO, a special family friend Jamie McCabe of Knox City, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bill graduated from Highland High School. He worked for Kraft Foods for six years. He enjoyed deer hunting, working on cars and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Bill was a member and retired assistant Fire Chief with the LaBelle Fire Department.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Reverend Tim Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery.
Musical selections will be "I Did It My Way" and "Free Bird".
Casket bearers will be Scott Wilson, Donnie Zahn, Carl Brightwell, Bryon Shultz, Scott Hoffman and Charles Baker.
Honorary bearers will be Dwayne Tungate and Riley Keim and all his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Coder funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeast MO and may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, Mo, 63447.
