Obituary

William "Bill" Bartz, age 78, of LaBelle, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 5, 2008, at the Country Aire retirement Estates in Lewistown, Missouri.
He was born February 8, 1930, at Dublin, Iowa, the son of Charles and Etta Doran Bartz. On October 1, 1955, at Pittsfield, Illinois he was united in marriage to Maxine Lucille Spann and she preceded him in death on June 24, 2008. Bill was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Eugene Bartz, five sisters, Virginia Kaylor, Mary Weikert, Evelyn Henson, Helen Sly and Donna Miller.
Surviving are Benny Kaylor and wife Billie of LaBelle, Missouri, who was raised in the home and their children, Brad, Brian and Brent Kaylor, and Rose Sparks and husband Steve of Ewing, Missouri, three brothers Robert Bartz of LaGrange, Missouri, Clarence Bartz of Maywood, Missouri, John Bartz of Tolona, Missouri, four sisters, Margarite Helfrich of Ewing, Missouri, Dorothy Waters of Taylor, Missouri, Janie Smith and husband Billy Joe of Taylor, Missouri, and Darlene Bartz of Kirksville, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Charles Sly of Ewing, Missouri, one sister-in-law, Velta Bartz of LaGrange, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was raided in Iowa until the age of fourteen when he moved with his parents to Missouri in a covered wagon. He has since made his home in Lewistown and LaBelle, Missouri area. He owned and operated Bartz Auto Parts, starting the business in Lewistown, Missouri and later moving the business to LaBelle. Bill was a member of LaBelle Masonic Lodge # 222 A.F. & A.M. In his past-time Bill enjoyed restoring Antique Tractors.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Officiating the services will be Reverend Charles Sharpe. Musical selections will be "Old Rugged Cross", "Farwell Party" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain".
Casket bearers will be Brad Kaylor, Brian Kaylor, Brent Kaylor, Steve Waters, Sam Smith and Lynn Sly.
Honorary bearers will be Jack Sparrow, Alan Catron, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri.
Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Chapel.
