Wayne Thomas Marshall, age 71, of Bethel, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in Quincy, IL.
He was born November 11, 1940, in Prairie DuRocher, IL, the son of Thomas and Evelyn Albert Marshall. He was united in marriage to Doris Jane Templeman and to this union one daughter was born. He was then united in marriage to Virginia (Ginger) Thrasher who preceded him in death. On June 21, 1989, at Kirksville, MO, he was married to Aline Barnard.
Surviving are his wife Aline Marshall of Bethel, MO, one daughter Gina Gordon and husband Mike of Kirksville, MO, four step-children, Lisa Pyper of Chillicothe, MO, Errick Bussman and wife Leslie of Marceline, MO, Jason Haley of Bethel, MO and Justin Haley of Kirksville, MO, two grandchildren, Anthony and Jessica Gordon, nine step grandchildren, Alex and Aiden Bussman, Magen, Ashley, Julia and Jordan Haley, Jacob Haley, Zachary and Michael and one brother Wade Marshall and wife Diane of Waterloo, IL.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and one step brother.
Wayne received his education in Prairie DuRocher, IL, graduated from Red Bud, IL High School and attended Mechanic School in St. Louis, MO. In the late 1960's he moved to Kirksville, MO where he was employed at Templeman Sales Company. He then began employment with Churchill Chemicals and retired in 1998, after 30 years. In February 2000, he moved to Heartland Community at Bethel, MO and began employment with CNS Ministries. He loved gardening, fishing, board games, dominoes, talking with the kids at Heartland and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Heartland Community Church north of Bethel, MO. Reverend Charles Sharpe will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Heartland Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Heartland Community Church.
Casket bearers will be Mike Gordon, Anthony Gordon, Jason Haley, Errick Bussman, Jacob Haley, and Justin Haley.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 12 noon till time of services at 2 p.m. in the Heartland Community Church.
