Obituary

Waldorf C. Eyman, 91 of Newton, Illinois passed away early Sunday, august 7, 2011 at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, Illinois
Mr. Eyman was born March 29, 1920 in Knox City, Missouri, the son of Waldorf and Thelma (Clauson) Eyman. On May 10, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois he was united in marriage to Louese Harris and she preceded him in death on November 10, 2004 after 63 years of marriage.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Kinder and husband, Roy of Newton, Illinois and a son, Wally C. Eyman Jr. and wife, Janice of Whitney, Texas; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, a sister, Elizabeth Coil of Urbandale, Iowa and a brother, William Eyman and wife, Rosalyn of Knox City, Missouri.
Mr. Eyman graduated from the Knox City High School and attended Kemper Military School. He was a World War II veteran having served four years in the Army Air Corps. Upon discharge, he attended the University of Missouri receiving a BS in business. He passed his CPA exam in the District of Columbia and worked for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company in Chicago and then as comptroller for Heddon & Sons Fishing Tackle in Dowagiac, Michigan. He then moved his family to Olney, Illinois where he was in private practice as a Certified Public Accountant for many years. Upon retiring he moved to Florida and became the city clerk for the City of Bradenton.
He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman, an avid bridge player and voracious reader.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Bee Ridge Cemetery, southeast of Edina, Missouri. Reverend Sam Smith will officiate. Local arrangements are under the direction of Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home of Edina, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Olney, Illinois and or the Bee Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
