Obituary

Vera Mae (Vee) Whiteside, age 73, of LaBelle, MO, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, in Creston, Iowa. She was born February 19, 1939, the daughter of Virgil Woodrow Wilson and Violet Florence Hatfield Sharpe.
She was united in marriage to Larry Reynolds and to this union three children were born. She then married Leroy Peterson and he preceded her in death. She then married Byron Keith Whiteside and he preceded her in death. Vera was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Floyd Hubert Sharpe and one sister Virgie Wood.
Surviving are three children, Pennie Reynolds-Pearson and husband George of Jordan, MN, Larry Paul Reynolds and his wife Margaret of Lancaster, MO and Pamela Reynolds Lyons and her husband Kevin of Ogden, IA, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vera was raised in LaBelle, MO where she graduated from LaBelle High School. She then attended Northeast MO State Teachers College (now Truman State University) for one year. She owned and operated a used furniture store in Kirksville, MO for several years. She then lived in LaBelle, MO and traveled to Arizona during the winter months. Vera was very business minded. She would buy antiques during the year and travel to Arizona and sell them during the winter months. She enjoyed singing. She had a good sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Officiating the services will be Darrick Lyons. Burial will be in the Sharpe Cemetery north of LaBelle, MO. Music will be congregational singing.
Honorary bearers will be Hubert Sharpe, Keith Tasco, Dana Parrish, Terry Allensworth, Jake Allensworth, Curtis Smith, Derek Smith, Keithen Tasco, and Christina Pearsell.
The family will received friends one hour before the services on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to time of services at 2 p.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
Memorials may be made to a memorial for the LaBelle Park and may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447.
