Thelma Jean Cary, age 84, formerly of LaBelle, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO.  She was born in the family home near Deer Ridge on December 16, 1937.  She was the daughter of Walter Mack and Ruby Helen Tripp Roberts.  She was united in marriage to Lester Cary in 1995.

Surviving are her children, Diane (Harry Lee) Oldfather of Edina, MO, Kenneth (Terri) Bugh, Jr. of Lewistown, MO, Pam Boggs of Edina, MO, Gina (Darrell) Campbell of Bucyrus, MO, Keri (Jed) Hinds of Memphis, MO,  Lisa (Darrell) Shultz of Rutledge, MO, Lori (Cliff) Cox of North Lake, TX, David (Shelly) Bugh of Edina, MO, Dawn Wheeler of Palmyra, MO, twenty eight grandchildren, forty six great grandchildren and one on the way,  also surviving are nieces and nephews, Larry (Desi) Suter, Alta, IA, Jack (Linda) Suter of Durham, MO, Nora Suter of Palmyra, MO, Quinn Neirling of Daytona, FL, Mike Roberts of River Ridge, LA and Dale and Leaha Roberts of Knox City, MO, Bev Roberts of LaBelle, MO, Sharon (Donnie) Fifer  of Ewing, MO, Connie (Doug) Tieman of Lake St. Louis, MO, Sandy Hatfield of LaBelle, MO, Angie (Jim) Hanson of Marion, IL.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Jo Neirling and Margorie Francis Roberts, two brothers, Bill Roberts, Ray Roberts and Neva Dee Roberts, nephews Kyle Suter, Clint Neirling, and great nieces Makinzy Neirling, Courtney Neirling and Terry Sutter.

Jean lived in Lewis County her whole life.  She graduated from LaBelle High School in 1956.

Jean was employed with Lewis Co C1 Schools and retired in 2008 with 38 years of driving a school bus.  She had also been employed at Lewistown Bank.  Jean enjoyed traveling, camping, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.  Visitation will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. and services will be held at 3 p.m.

Services will be officiated by Reverend Elmer Hagood.  Musical selections will be Old Rugged cross, Walk Through This World With Me and I'll Leave This World Loving You.

Casket bearers will be Harry Lee Oldfather, Darrell Campbell, Darrell Shultz, Cliff Cox, Jed Hinds and Jason Hall.  Honorary bearers will be grandchildren Stag Patterson, Welcome Patterson, Joseph Boggs, Donald Seppelt, Darren Campbell, Ryan Hinds, Cory Shultz, Collin Shultz, Logan Cox, Thomas Cox, Josh Klocke, Storm Bugh and Trevor Wheeler.   Burial will be in the Deer Ridge Cemetery.
