Obituary

Terry Lee (Red) Callahan, age 79 of Edina, MO passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026 in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO. He was born February 26, 1947, in Adair, MO the son of Fred William and Beulah Mae Medsker Callahan.

He was united in marriage to Judy Patterson on September 20, 1969 in Edina, MO.

Surviving are his wife Judy Callahan of Edina, MO, two children Nicole (Jeff) Nevin of Camp Point, IL, and Amy (Rick) Hubble of Knox City, MO, five grandchildren, LeAnne Johnson, Wesley Nevin, Lindsey (Dylan) Mettes, Hannah (Solomon) Mixer, Landon (Kinsley) Hubble, three great grandchildren, Henry Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Carter Mettes, Baby Mettes (coming soon) and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Red was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Tara LeAnne Callahan in 1992, one brother Larry Gene Callahan and his father and mother-in-law Clinton and Donna Patterson.

Terry graduated from Knox County High in 1965. Terry was employed at Motter’s Hatchery, then served his country in the United States Navy. Terry then worked for Gardner Denver in Quincy, IL. In 1970 Terry went to work at K & D Farm Supply and then to COOP service station where he served as manager for 23 years, and the last nine on the propane truck. Terry retired when he was 55 years old. He then started driving a rock truck for the county for four years. Terry then served as Easten District Commissioner. Terry then began employment driving a school bus for Knox County School district. Terry said this was his favorite job. He loved the kids and became a part of them growing up. Terry retired from this job in 2025. Terry serviced on the Nutrition Site Board, was member of Old Iron Tractor Club at Palmyra, member of Edina Masonic Lodge # 291 A.F & A.M., past board member of the Knox County Ambulance District, First Responder and member of the Knox County Rescue Squad, Elder and past board member of the Edina Christian Church and was active in the Knox County Cornfest Tractor show and games.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026 in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Masonic services will begin at 3 p.m. conducted by Edina Lodge # 291 A.F. & A.M. and funeral services will follow. Burial will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO. Pastor Paul Harvey will conduct services.

Casket bears will be Brian Banks, Billy Mallett, Bobby Hunolt, Rob Hunolt, Jim Shubert, John Johnson, Andy Heimer and Allen Gudehus.

Honorary bearers will be Landon Hubble, Dylan Mettes, Wes Nevin, Solomon Mixer, Carter Mettes, Allen Lewis, Lynn Douglas and Steve Miller.

Memorials are suggested to Knox County Nutrition Site and or Hospice of Northeast Missouri. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537
