Terrell "Terry" Shumate, age 80, of Edina, MO passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO.

He was born in Kirksville, MO on November 9, 1941, the son of Hortense Shumate.  He was united in marriage to Pattsy Sue Haffner.

Surviving is his wife Pattsy Sue Shumate of Edina, MO, one son Christopher Shane Shumate and wife Jeannie of Lee's Summit, MO, one granddaughter Kristen LeAnn Shumate of Lee's Summit, MO, two sisters-in-law Mary Jane Harder and Loren of Leonard, MO, Katherine Marie Hamlin and Jim of Hurdland, MO, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, one daughter Gayla Dawn Shumate in infancy, mother and father-in-law Wilber and Thelma Haffner, sister-in-law Elizabeth Kay McCabe and a great nephew Tyler Lonberger.

Terry graduated from Edina High School in 1960.  He was employed with Knox County School, I.G.A, C & R, and over twenty-seven years with St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Terry was a past member of Edina Country Club where he spent many hours playing golf.  He was an avid Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  But his greatest pleasure was his beloved granddaughter.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 1 p.m. with funeral services following at 2 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Ken Berry will officiate the services.  Burial will be in the Linville cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jim Gibbons, Harley Hamlin, Mike Schrage, Ryan Bishop, Dick Woods and Alan Morgret.
