Susan Elaine (Johnston) Ladwig, age 70 of Edina formerly of the Greensburg area passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO.
Susan was born on March 16, 1955 in Fairfield, IA the daughter of Ralph Maynard and Louise Boley Johnston. Susan married Freddie Ladwig on February 26, 1995 and he preceded her in death. Susan was also preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and an aunt and uncle.
Surviving are her brothers, Craig (Heika) Johnston of Columbia, MO, John Johnston of Kirksville, MO, her step mother Marilyn Johnston of Edina, MO, a sister-in-law and her husband Marlyn (Robert) Smock of Illinois, several cousins and a host of friends.
Susan received her education in Knox County, at Baring Elementary School and graduated from Knox County High School in 1973.
Over the years Susan had worked at the Mercantile Bank in Memphis, MO, Sparks Clinic in Edina, MO, and finally at United States Bank in Edina, MO.
Susan enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in the summer and watching NASCAR. Most of all she loved being with her family and friends. She always had a big smile and liked to laugh.
Susan was a member of the Colony Chapter # 543, Order of The Eastern Star. Susan was also a member of the First Christian Church in Edina where she had served as deaconess, board member, treasure and trustee.
Visitation will be held at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. An Eastern Star service be held at 6:30 p.m. by Colony Chapter # 543 Order of The Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Harvey will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Randy James, Brian Banks, Craig Miller, James Taylor, David Bugh, and Jerry Taylor.
