Obituary

Stan Shelton (Stan the Man) 68, Newark, Missouri went to be with the Lord Jan 15, 2016. Born August 21, 1948 to his parents Nora and Glenn Shelton (deceased). Born and raised in Camp Point, Illinois with excellent athletic abilities, he won numerous awards, and was well known as "Stan the Man". Graduating from Central High School, he joined the air force serving honorably during the Vietnam conflict. Upon his discharge from the military, 1970 he met and married his wife, Sue Wheeler. They later moved to Lexington, Illinois where together they established S & S Home Improvements which they successfully operated until retirement. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Sue, their three children Stacey (Dawn), Seth, and Samey (Mike), two brothers Jack Shelton (Pie), Richard Shelton (Karen) and sister Peggy Elsie (Bob), and grandchildren Brock and Brody and Taylor and Jordan numerous nephews and nieces . Throughout his adult Christian life he generously gave and sacrificed for those he loved; never knowing a stranger he was quick to be a witness for the Lord and to help those in need. "He will be missed". Funeral services will be held at Wednesday January 20, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Camp Point. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Assembly of God Church in Camp Point. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Camp Point.
