Shirley Sue Rhoades, age 70 of Novelty, MO passed away, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, MO.

She was born March 7, 1951 in Sacramento, CA to Charles Clifford and Vera Lorene Wilson Marler.  On October 10, 2009, in Novelty, MO she was united in marriage to Ronald Gene Rhoades.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald Gene Rhoades of Novelty, MO; her mother-in-law, Judith Rhoades of Novelty, MO; one daughter, Anneka Focht of Clarence, MO; one son, Justin Focht and Tara of Clarence, MO; two brothers, Donnie Joe Marler and Karen of Rio Linda, CA and Donald Ray Marler also of Rio Linda, CA; one sister, Barbara Ann Noss of Mt. Judea, AR; five grandchildren, Jorja, Brooklyn, Grayson, Cassidy and Josh Focht and one great granddaughter, Lorelei Focht.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy Marler.

Shirley received her education in Rio Linda, CA.  She had been employed at Maytag in Clarence for several years and then as a custodian for South Shelby Schools before retiring.  She attended the Union Church at Clarence.

Shirley enjoyed riding around and looking at wildlife.  She also loved her dogs, going to flea markets and helping on the farm.  Most of all she loved being with her family and the enjoyment they brought to her life.

Family visitation will be Friday, December 31, 2021 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Burial will be at a later date in Noss Marler Cemetery in Mount Judea, AR.
