Shirley Adams, age 69 of Carthage, TN passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at her home in Carthage, TN.

She was born in Bethel, MO, on April 20, 1944, the daughter of Everett Lee and Alvessa Preston Kurk.

On May 30, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was united in marriage to Glenn Leigh Adams II.

Mrs. Adams was a 1961 graduate of LaBelle High School in LaBelle, MO. She retired in 2005, as an Underwriting Assistant for State Farm Insurance in Murfreesboro, TN. Her tenure with the company was twenty seven years. Surviving in addition to her husband of almost twenty two years are her two children: Michael Patrick and wife, Teresa, of Gilbert, AZ, Michelle Lloyd and husband, Jeff of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren, who were the light of her life; Wade and Shae Patrick, Jeffrey, Jenna, Jaime and Justin Lloyd.

As per her request Shirley was cremated. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 20, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Burial will be in the Asbury Chapel Cemetery at Steffenville, MO.
