Sherry Lee Davis, age 64, of Knox City, MO, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, in Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO.  She was born July 4, 1957, in Knox City, MO, the daughter of Raymond Franklin and Patricia M. Blowers Wolter.

She was united in marriage to James Lee Davis, Jr. to this union one daughter was born.    Sherry was preceded in death by her father Raymond F. Wolter, her husband James Lee Davis, Jr. and one step brother Jerry Wolter.

Surviving are her life partner Steven Fries of Knox City, MO, her mother Patricia Wolter of LaBelle, MO, one daughter, Deidre Davis of Santa Rosa, CA, one granddaughter Maya Alas of Santa Rosa, CA, two sisters, Mary Muehlenfeld, Brenda Wolter, brothers Byron Wolter, Larry Wolter and Scott Wolter, brothers-in-law Jerry Davis of Quincy, IL, Joseph Davis of Oklahoma and John Davis of Chicago, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

Sherry graduated from Knox County High School and also graduated from John Wood Community College in Quincy, IL with an associate degree in Nursing.  Sherry was employed as a registered nurse and director of nursing for several local community nursing homes in the area.

Sherry loved horses and gardening.  She also loved caring for her cats and fostering new born kittens.

Sherry will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.  Burial will be held at a later date in the Knox City Cemetery.
