Sharon Kaye Dailing, age 77, of Edina, MO, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Sullivan
County Memorial Hospital in Milan, MO. She was born December 4, 1943, in Edina, MO the
daughter of James Bertus and Jewell Rose Leigh Walker. She was united in marriage to Dick
Hopkins and to this union two children were born, James and Ronald Hopkins. On February 16,
1974, she was united in marriage to George Robert Dailing and he preceded her in death on
December 22, 2010. To this union one daughter Georgina was born.
Sharon was also preceded by her parents and a sister Janet Parrish.
Surviving are three children, James Hopkins and fiancé Lana Ledford of Milan, MO, Ronald and
Shari Hopkins of Milan, MO and Georgina and Steve Eddy of Milan, MO, two step children, Tina
and Roger Waibel of Edina, MO, and Rob and Judy Dailing of Branson, MO, also surviving are
eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, two nephews Jerran Higgins and Justin
Parrish and one niece Renee Schrage, three great nephews, three great nieces, three great-great
nephews and one great-great niece.
Sharon attended Edina Schools where she graduated from High School. Sharon grew up in Edina
and was employed for several years at the Knox County Nursing Home. Sharon loved to work in
her yard and flower garden. She loved camping, fishing and attending the Rutledge Flea Market.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. October 30, 2021 at the Baring Lake Club
house. Burial will be held later in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.
