Samuel L. Johnson, age 64, of LaBelle, MO passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, in Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

He was born in Chicago, IL November 8, 1957, the son of Dr. Samuel and Mary Dantzler Johnson.

Samuel received his education in Illinois.   He served his country in the United States Army from 1975 to 1977.  Samuel was employed as a mechanic and in construction.  Samuel loved fishing, baking and his Kessler.   He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are one son Nadunt Clay of Quincy, IL, four daughters, Ranada Harper of Quincy, IL, Ambyer Strieker and fiancé Matt of Kentucky, Samantha Clay of Quincy, IL and Ashanti Anderson and husband Jeremy of Maywood, MO, six sisters, Terry Sanchez and Mark of Rock Island, IL,  Sandra Johnson of Rock Island, IL, Tammy Johnson of Rock Island, IL, Reshanda Johnson of Rock Island, IL, Tornita Johnson of Branden, IL, and Cynthia Johnson of Rock Island, IL, five brothers, Samuel Johnson, Jr., Gregory Johnson, John Johnson, Demetrius Johnson and Valencia and Daniel Johnson and Angilla all of Illinois, thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and father-in-law Roy Clay, Sr.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO with visitation one hour before.
