Robert Roland, 32, of Kirksville, MO passed away far too soon, leaving behind a family that loved him fiercely and will miss him endlessly. Robert was the dependable big brother, the nonchalant smart-ass in every room, the go-to guy for all the heavy lifting, and the undisputed master napper. If there was a couch nearby, Robert found it. Robert was born in Kirksville, MO the son of William James and Shellie Ann Roland. Robert was raised in Kirksville, MO where he received his education. He served his country in the United States Army. Robert was the ultimate jungle gym for all his nieces and nephew, always instigating horseplay. He loved gaming with a passion, could disappear into it for hours, and somehow always believed he had time for “one more game.” He showed his love in steady ways: by showing up, by helping (even when he really didn’t want to), and by being exactly who he was sarcastic, loyal, and solid to his core. We can take comfort knowing Shellie now has one of her shitheads; we all knew he was her favorite. He leaves behind his father William James Roland, his siblings, Angelica Roland, Michelle (Drew) Roberts, Sarah Roland, Katherine Roland, and Albert Roland, nieces and nephew Julianna Ayers, Emmalee Ayers, Leilani Gonzales, Andrew Roberts and Sophia Roberts, as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his mother Shellie. The family is heartbroken but full of grateful nieces and nephews who adored their favorite climbing post, siblings who will forever miss their brother, a father who always stood beside him and whose heart will never let him go, and friends who were lucky enough to be roasted and loved by him. We love you, Robert. Rest easy. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 20th from 12 noon till 2 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Full Military Honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Memorials are requested to the Family. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
