Robert William Patterson Sr, age 76 of Edina, Mo passed away peacefully Thursday January 15th, 2026 at his residence in Edina.
He was born August 16th, 1949 in Rockford IL, the son of William Benjamin Patterson and Dorothy Mae Patterson.
He married Cheryl Patterson on November 11th, 1990 in Davenport IA, sharing 35 years of love and laughter together.
Surviving are his wife Cheryl Patterson of Moberly MO, his mother Dorothy Mae Patterson of Princeton IA
Surviving Siblings are his brother Steve (Linda) Patterson of Princeton IA, and sisters Debbie (Mike) Irving of Princeton IA, Janet (Steve) Clark of Collinville OK, Karen Sallis of Davenport IA.
Surviving sons are Dale Jr (Crystal Dole) Dick, David (Amanda) Jensen, Daniel Jensen, Matthew Perry, Benjamin Perry, Benjamin Patterson, Joseph Patterson, Samuel Patterson.
Surviving Daughters are Lisa (James) Truman, Faith Little, Jessica (Travis) Daniels.
Surviving Grandchildren are Michael Patterson, Melody, Anissa, Leilani, TyShaun, Brooklyn, Jemma Jensen, Hailey Dole and Dilon Dole.
He was preceded in death by his father William Patterson. His two brothers David (Vickey) Patterson and Brian Patterson, his son's Derek Stogsdill and Rober Patterson Jr. His, Grandchildren Jade Jensen and Joseph Trumen.
Robert served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. He served his time on board ship as a boiler man conducting the ships fresh water supply and was also involved in combat operations during his service. After surviving, Robert became a tire repair man at Eastern Iowa tire. After some time there, Robert moved to Rutledge Mo, with his wife Cheryl and children. He became a long-haul truck driver at numerous trucking companies.
Robert loved spending time with his family and cherishing each moment while anticipating the next. He was a strong man of his word and he was always there to listen or give words of wisdom to those around him. His favorite hobbies contained of reading the Bible, working on numerous vehicles and listening to music.
Funeral service will be held at the Halligan McCabe DeVries funeral home located at 614 N Main St, Davenport, IA 52803. January 31st, 2026 at 10am. Local arrangements were under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
