Obituary

Richard Eugene (Dickie) Davis, age 78 of Edina, Mo passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at his home in Edina. He was born in Knox City, MO on August 3, 1947 the son of Garland Royal Davis and Barbara Ann Norton Davis Goodwin. He was united in marriage to Amelia Susan (Amy) Bray on May 22, 1967 in the Knox City Baptist Church.

Dickie graduated from Knox County High School. He farmed and worked with Davis Construction in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and many other locations. Building apartment complexes, power plants, bridges, nursing homes, medical centers and much more. He then worked with his children in Double D Construction. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hobby farming and spending time with his family. Dickie was a member of the Knox City Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Amy Davis of Edina, MO, two children, Christina Lynn (Mike) Sjeversen of Mora, MN, and Jerry Eugene (Staci) Davis of Edina, MO, a daughter-in-law Kathy Lynn Davis of Edina, MO, two sisters-in-law Denise Davis of Kahoka, MO, and Wanda L. Bauer of Edina, MO, ten grandchildren, Mitchel, Cody, Michael, Catie and Marie Pegg, Brandee Mohr, Ryan, Joey, Matt, and Maddie Davis, two great grandchildren Giles and Lidia Pegg. Dickie was preceded in death by parents, one son Richard Jon Davis, four brothers Jerry Ray Davis, Clifford Lee Davis, Ricky Royal Davis and Mickey Gene Davis and an uncle JV Norton.

Dickie will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the Knox City Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 12 noon and services will start at 2 p.m. Reverend Doug Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will follow in the Knox City Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Knox City Baptist Church and or the Knox City Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
