Phillip Wilfred Bauer, age 88, of LaBelle, MO, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2012, at his home south of LaBelle. He was born November 24, 1923, in Chicago, IL the son of Karl and Pauline Bauen Bauer. He was united in marriage to Nona Harp Kilgore on January 23, 1978, in Mt. Prospect, IL.
Surviving are his wife Nona Bauer of LaBelle, MO, two daughters, Kathryn Brennan and husband Tom of Crystal Lake, IL, and Jennifer Ray and husband Geoff of Boca Raton, FL, five step children, Kevin Kilgore and wife Wendy of Prospect Heights, IL, Brian Kilgore and wife Karen of Mason, OH, Kimberly Keever and husband David of Indianapolis, IN, Christine Beaty and husband Dan of Greenfield, IN, Daniel Kilgore of Santa Monica, CA, grandchildren, Kelsey Brennan, Maggie Brennan, Matthew Ortman, Michael Ortman, Joshua Kilgore, Alexis Kilgore, Madison Kilgore, Tyler Keever, Benjamin Keever, Megan Beaty, Nicole Beaty, Mya Beaty and Caroline Beaty, and one sister, Pauline Doersam of Waterford, WI.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Deborah Ortman.
Phillip was raised in Chicago, IL where he received his education. He served his country in the United States Navy from December 11, 1942 to February 21, 1946 having served three years, two months and eleven days. He was a retired Insurance Adjuster for Allstate Insurance. He
raised and trained Golden Retrievers for thirty years and was a member of several Dog Clubs. Phillip was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by many friends.
No services are being held at this time. A Memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of the Coder Funeral Chapel of LaBelle, MO.
