Paul M. Ross, age 73, of Creve Coeur, Missouri, formerly of LaBelle, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at his home in Creve Coeur.
He was born February 28, 1935 in Kirksville, Missouri the son of W. Philip and Mildred McGee Ross.
On June 4, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Gretchen Hotz.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years Gretchen H. Ross; one son Paul M. Ross, Jr.; one daughter, Lisa R. Goebel and husband James; three grandchildren, Gretchen Faye, Francis Ross and Vincent Walker Goebel; one brother, David P. Ross and wife Connie of Kansas City, Missouri; one niece, Margaret Ross of Kansas City, Missouri.
Mr. Ross grew up in LaBelle, Missouri where he graduated from LaBelle Public High School and graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri in 1957. His education included graduate work at the University of Wisconsin and Columbia University in New York.
Paul was captain and commanding Officer of a Tank Company along with training as a paratrooper.
His banking career began February 1959 with the old First National Bank and he and a group later joined Citizens National Bank of Greater St. Louis where he continued to be associated.
Paul was a member of the Ladue Chapel Presbyterian church and had 50 years as a member of LaBelle Masonic Lodge # 222 and later the Scottish Rite and Moolah Shrine Temple.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the LaBelle Cemetery in LaBelle, Missouri.
Honorary bearers will be David W. Bentele, Steven McD. Campbell, James F. Goebel, Jr., D.W. McDonald, James McElroy, Jefferson L. Miller, David P. Ross, Paul M. Ross, Jr., Walter Schmitz, and Daniel Walper.
There will be no visitation.
