Obituary

Patricia Frances Carlson, age 86, of Novelty, MO passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
She was born September 2, 1928, at Williamsfield, IL, the daughter of William and Oletha Squires Spencer.
She was united in marriage to William Begner in 1945 in Illinois and to this union three children were born. On April 25, 1980, she was united in marriage to Walter (Swede) Carlson in Edina, MO and gained a step-daughter.
Pat liked working in her flower beds, mowing her lawn, doing jigsaw puzzles and reading. Her embroidery and crochet handiwork is displayed in the homes of many of her family and friends. She was very involved in her community, serving on the Novelty Town Board, serving as an officer of the Senior Center and attending, as well as working for the Locust Hill Community Church. Pat was also currently serving on the Knox County Health Department Advisory Board.
She is survived by a daughter Linda Burns and husband Doug of Beverly, West Virginia, one son David Begner and wife Debbie of Galesburg, IL, a step-daughter Vicki Hill and husband John of Lake Villa, Illinois, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, one sister Judith Rhoades of Novelty, MO, three brothers; Jim Spencer and wife Darlene of Peoria, IL, Bill Spencer and wife Janet of Williamsfield, IL, and Stanley Spencer and wife Patty of Newark, MO, and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter LuAnne Begner and her husband Swede Carlson.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday, April 25, 2015, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Reese Blaine and Reverend Bill Gaines will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Locust Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 till time of services at 11:30 on Saturday, April 25, 2015, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Novelty Senior Center. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
