Obituary

Oneta Louise Myers, age 84, of LaBelle, MO, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014, in the LaBelle Manor Care Nursing Home in LaBelle, MO.
She was born January 23, 1930, in Lewis County, MO, the daughter of Orval Edward and Beulah Levengood Breen.
She was united in marriage to Delbert Levi Myers on December 18, 1948, at the home of her parents in Lewis County.
Surviving are her husband Delbert Levi Myers of LaBelle, MO, three children, Kent Myers and wife Marlene of Knox City, MO, Craig Myers and wife Debbie of Ewing, MO, and Margaret Westfall and husband Tom of Kirksville, MO, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild and several cousins.
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her parents.
Oneta graduated from LaBelle High School in 1947, received her Teaching Degree at Kirksville State Teachers College in 1959 and received her Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling in 1979. She began teaching in country schools such as Nelson School, Steffenville, LaBelle and Lewistown. After receiving her Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling she was employed at Highland High School as Guidance Counselor until 1990. After retiring she was employed part time in several small northeast Missouri schools in testing and counseling.
She was a member of P.E.O, Amacitia Club, and Missouri State Teachers Association. She loved collecting antiques and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Officiating the services will be Reverend Charles Sharpe and Reverend Ted Middleton. Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery. Music will be provided by Ottie Lewis, pianist and Mt. Olive Church Choir.
Casket bearers will be Todd Myers, Scott Phillips, Mackie Johnston, Thomas Paul Westfall, Denton Nall and Leland Phillips.
Honorary bearers will be Curtis Smith, Derrick Smith, Keith Tasco, Randy Sharpe and Mickie Tom Lumley.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Deer Ridge Cemetery or the LaBelle Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447.
