Obituary

Naomi Elizabeth Wilson, age 92, of Knox City, Missouri, passed away, Monday, December 29, 2008, at the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, Missouri.
She was born October 12, 1916, in Knox County, Missouri, the daughter of Aura L. and V. Grace Baker Whiteaker.
On October 2, 1940, at Kirksville, Missouri she was united in marriage to Freddie Cecil Boone and he preceded her in death on February 8, 1958. On January 25, 1962, at Brashear, Missouri she was united in marriage to Delbert Francis Wilson and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1984.
Naomi was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Maribel Mitten and her husband Fern, one brother, Ellis Baker Whiteaker at age of 4, her nephew Aura W. Mitten and one great-great-great nephew.
Surviving are her niece Anna Grace Dayton and husband Larry of Brooklyn, Iowa, a niece-in-law Rachel Mitten of St. Charles, Missouri, six great nieces, Elizabeth Levinson and husband Mark of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jeanne Mahady of Beltsville, Maryland, Joyce Presser and husband Jerry of Troy, Missouri, Mary Glascock and husband Todd of O'Fallon, Missouri, Robin Miller and husband Ronald of Mason City, Iowa, Carol Croke and husband Patrick of Forest Grove, Oregon, three great nephews, Philip Mitten and wife Connie Wood of Winfield, Missouri, Stephen Dayton and wife LaVerne of Arroyo Grande, California, and Gaylon Dayton and wife Janet of Clive, Iowa, fifteen great-great nieces and nephews, twelve great-great-great nieces and nephews, several cousins and many friends.
Naomi received her education at Bee Ridge Rural School and graduated from Knox City High School. She has lived in Baring, Edina, Hurdland, LaGrange, Palmyra, Kirksville, near St. Louis, Missouri, and Knox City, Missouri.
Naomi was employed at Wells Lamont Glove Factory at Edina, Missouri, Sandknop Department Store, P.N. Hirsch Department Store and Edina Café.
She was a farm wife. She and Freddie traveled with Schaffner Players, Toby and Susie Show.
Naomi enjoyed flowers, birds, family, reading, crossword puzzles, church activities and cooking. She was a member of the Bee Ridge United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Sam Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Bee Ridge Cemetery southeast of Edina, Missouri.
Music will be congregational songs, "How Great Thou Art" and "In The Garden". Organist will be Anita Miller.
Casket bearers will be Philip Mitten, Stephen Wuelling, Jim Luetkenhaus, Ronald Miller, Gaylon Dayton and Philip Moldenhauer, Stephen Dayton.
Visitation will be from 12 noon till service time at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Naomi Elizabeth Wilson may be made to the Bee Ridge United Methodist Church or Bee Ridge Cemetery Association. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, Missouri, 63537.
