Mildred Darlene Bartz, age 77, of Lewistown, MO formerly of Kirksville, MO, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017, in Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO.

Darlene was one of fifteen children born to Charles and Etta Doran Bartz.  She resided in Kirksville, MO and had several caretakers that Darlene considered her extended family.

Darlene lived in Kirksville for twenty-three years where she was employed thru Transitions doing various jobs. She enjoyed writing letters and time with her family.

Surviving are two brothers, John Bartz of Taylor, MO, and Clarence Bartz of Maywood, MO, three sisters, Margarite Helfrich of Ewing, MO, Dorothy Waters of Quincy, IL, and Janie (Billy Joe) Smith of Maywood, MO, two brothers-in-law, Charles Sly and Billy Joe Smith of Maywood, a sister-in-law Velta Bartz of Quincy, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charles, Bill, Bob and Gene Bartz, and sisters Virginia Kaylor, Mary Wiekert, Evelyn Henson, Helen Sly and Donna Miller.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2017, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.  Reverend Paul Milliken will officiate the services.  Burial will be in the LaBelle Cemetery.

Musical selections will be How Great Thou Art, In The Garden and You Are My Sunshine.

Casket bearers will be Benny Kaylor, Lynn Sly, Steve Waters, Mike Waters, Billy Smith, John Bartz, Jr., and Darrell Bartz.

Honorary bearers will be Darlene's remaining nieces and nephews who were so special to her.

Visitation will be held 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, 2017, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
