Obituary

Maurita June Phillips, age 93, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010, in the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born on June 27, 1917, at Brashear, Missouri, the daughter of Orville Milton and Ora May Lowe Patterson. She was united in marriage to Albert Richard Phillips on August 8, 1941, at Edina, Missouri and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1991.
Maurita was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Alva Patterson.
Surviving are one sister, Verne Marble of Edina, Missouri, one brother Russell Patterson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one sister-in-law Genevieve Patterson of Kirksville, Missouri, several nieces, and nephews, Terry Marble and wife Rose of Edina, Missouri, Nancy Hamlin and husband Charley of Edina, Missouri, Charlotte Dyslin and husband Mike of Fairfield, Connecticut, Tim Marble and wife Diane of St. Louis, Missouri, Duane Patterson and wife Sandra of Brashear, Missouri, Karen Chisholm of Chester, Texas, Lynette Neubauer and husband Marty of Arlington, Virginia, Larry Patterson and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Patrick Patterson and wife Diane of Iowa, and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maurita was raised in Brashear, Missouri and graduated from Brashear High School. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants in Long Beach, California for forty years. She and her husband returned to Edina in 1990. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Rick Barnes will officiate the services. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri.
Music will be provided by Pastor Rick Barnes, soloist and Ed Anderson organist.
Musical selections will be" Blessed Assurance" and a congregational song "What A Day That Will Be".
Casket bearers will be Terry Marble, Tim Marble, Charley Hamlin, Duane Patterson, Larry Patterson, and Patrick Patterson.
Visitation will be held at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home on Friday, July 30, 2010, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Knox County Nutrition Center of Edina Assembly of God Church. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, Missouri, 63537.
