Mary Bernice Cron, age 75, of Hurdland, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.  She was born July 31, 1947, in East Prairie, MO the daughter of Wesley Grammer and Hellen Frances Lawson.  She was united in marriage to Leslie Cron, Jr. and he preceded her in death in 1980.

Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Larry Shephard and James A. Basinger, and one sister Mary Helen Basinger.

Surviving are four children, Patricia Ann Shephard of Fairborn, OH, Darlene (Robert) Graves of Momence, IL, Lesley Cron of Ottumwa, IA, and James (Jennifer) Cron of Freeburg, IL, four sisters, Shirley Dowdy of Sikeston, MO, Betty Carter of Hope AR, Sue (Scott) Britton of Leasburg, MO, and Sandra (Theodore) Evans of Arnold, MO, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mary received her education in East Prairie, MO.  She was a homemaker and had also been employed as a Senior's Director at a Senior Citizens Center in St. Louis, MO.  Mary had lived in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri and for the past seventeen years had resided in Hurdland, MO.

Mary enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting with her sister and watching western movies.  She was a John Wayne and Elvis fan.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in the Hurdland I.O.O.F. Cemetery.   Pastor Brian Burton will officiate the services.

Musical selections will be Amazing Grace, Old Rugged Cross and Scars In Heaven.

Casket bearers will be James Cron, Logan Cron, Evan Cron, Robert Graves, Theodore Evans and James Evans.
