Mary Sue Carder, age 91, of Mediapolis, IA formerly of Rutledge, MO, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, in Prairie Ridge Care and Rehabilitation in Mediapolis, IA.

She was born March 2, 1926, in LaBelle, MO, the daughter of Homer Clarence and Iva B. Scott Dauma.  She was united in marriage to Leonard Carder at Kirksville, MO on May 24, 1944 and he preceded her in death on February 23, 1978.  Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Harley and Homer Jr. Dauma, her only grandson Preston Brian Boone and two sons-in-law Richard Randoll and Raymond Bang.

Surviving are one daughter Kathryn E. Bang of Burlington, IA, one sister-in-law Verlee Dauma of Memphis, MO, and three nephews, Kenneth, Steve and Jon Dauma.  Mary graduated from Gorin High School in 1944. She and her husband were engaged in farming in the Rutledge area till 1956 when they moved to Illinois.  She worked at Smoler Brothers in Monmouth, IL and worked in Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth from 1981 till her retirement in 1988.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing with her cat Sassy and visiting with her grand-dog Sadie Mae.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate the services.  Burial will be in the Harmony Grove Cemetery east of Rutledge, MO.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
