Marvin Eugene Harding, affectionately known as Cotton by his friends has passed into the loving arms of god at LaBelle Manor in LaBelle on July 16, 2020.  He was 86 years old.  Cotton was born September 1, 1934, in Cherry Box MO, where he began his lifelong love of farming and enjoying God's gift of nature.  He was the son of Francis Gerald and Bessie Mae Norris Harding.

He is survived by one nephew, Dr Alfred Harding and 2 nieces, Kathleen Peters, and Corinne Pezzulo and many other friends he has met and loved over the years.

Marvin was preceded in death by his mother Bessie Mae, his father Francis Gerald and his brother Alfred Dwain Harding who are waiting patiently for him.

The family of Cotton would like to thank all of the wonderful folks at LaBelle Manor for their loving care of him while he was a resident. He loved being out in the fields, enjoying the fresh air and working on a saw mill.

Marvin was a farmer until he finally retired to enjoy his other love. Listening to country music and traveling the United States on bus tours and meeting new people. He made it as far as Hawaii and Alaska and many places in between.   Cotton was a long-time member of the Knox City Christian Church where he served as a deacon since 1992.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2020, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Sandy Browning will officiate the services.  Burial will be in Meadville Cemetery.

Musical selections will be Amazing Grace, Mansion Over the Hilltop and Farther Along.  Organist will be Carol Hayes and soloist will be Brent Karhoff.

Visitation will be held one hour before services on Sunday.
