Martha Mae Parrish, age 79 of LaBelle, MO, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
She was born November 29, 1936, in Scotland County, MO the daughter of Elvin Arthur and Alice Frances McKinney Florea. She was united in marriage to David Taylor Parrish on December 22, 1954, in Knox County, MO. David preceded her in death on May 12, 2010. Martha Mae was also preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister-in-law and three brothers in law, Floyd Houser, Earl Parrish and Leon Hatfield.
Surviving are two children, Bernita Faye Moorshead (Gary) of Gladstone, MO, and Roger David Parrish (Janet) of LaBelle, MO, four grandchildren, Sabrina Parrish, Crystal Eid, Andy Parrish and Adam Parrish, three great grandchildren Myra Eid, Ariel Parrish and Alayna Seaton, sister Doris Jean Hatfield of Kirksville and sister-in-law Juanita Parrish of Mexico, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Martha Mae received her education in Knox and Scotland Counties. She was employed for several years as a CNA in Knox County Nursing Home and LaBelle Manor. Martha Mae was a brave, strong minded and fun loving mother, and grandmother who loved her time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and the outdoors. She spent most of her life in Knox and Lewis counties. She was a member of the Knox City Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2016, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Doug Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Northeast of Edina.
Music will be Doug Wilson, selections will be Long Black Train, Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace.
Casket bearers will be Andy Parrish, Adam Parrish, Nick Parrish, Wayne Harlan, Sawyer Wassell and Danny Trones
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
