Marjorie P. Oldfather, 80, of Milan, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Per Marjorie's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation rites were accorded. Memorials may be made in care of the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family.
Marjorie was born in Knox County, Mo. on May 9, 1936, a daughter of Ellis P. and Elva Kenoyer Hayden. She married Merle Oldfather in Edina, Mo. on Dec. 16, 1952.
Marjorie worked as a waitress for several different restaurants in her early years. She spent the majority of her time as a homemaker.
Marjorie enjoyed camping, going to blue grass festivals, crocheting and crafts of all kinds.
Survivors include her husband, Merle Oldfather, Milan; children (and spouses), Steven (Donna) Oldfather, New Windsor, Ill., Cindy (Jim) Meyer, Moberly, Mo. and Ellis (special friend, Myke Reynolds) Oldfather, Davenport; grandchildren, Diana (Joe) Hunt, Joy, Ill., Michael (Jamie) Oldfather, Moline, Kyle (Jeannie) Oldfather, Sherrard, Rachel (Kelly) Miller, Knox City, Mo. and Derek Oldfather, Rock Island; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Shahan, Edina, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Barbara Hayden.
