Loretta Marie Comley, age 84, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010, in the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.
She was born in Edina, Missouri on May 15, 1925, the daughter of Charles William and Pearl Wilhelmina Kassahn Karhoff.
On January 22, 1950, at Edina, Missouri she was united in marriage to Harold Owen Comley, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Lloyd Frances, Leroy, Leon and Leonard Karhoff.
Surviving are one son, Ronald Comley and wife Peggy of Quincy, Illinois, one brother Leslie "Jake" Karhoff and wife Helen Fern of Edina, Missouri, two sisters, Lola May and Robert Klusmeyer of Quincy, Illinois and Rita Helen and Andrew Bono of St. Louis, Missouri, two grandchildren, Ryan Joseph Comley and Alyssia Ann Comley two great grandchildren, Gaven and Mavryk Comley and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Loretta was raised in Edina where she received her education. She was employed at the Wells-Lamont Glove factory for several years. Loretta was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her special friend Callie
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM, Monday, January 18, 2010, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri. Father Joseph Hoi assisted by Deacon Ken Berry will officiate the services. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Music will be provided by Nancy Reardon, organist and Brent Karhoff, soloist.
Casket bearers will be Ronnie Peterson, Richard Peterson, Marty Karhoff, Mike Karhoff, Tom Haggerty, and Ryan Comley.
Honorary bearers will be Mark Comley, Leslie Karhoff, Gaven Comley, Mavryk Comley, Jim Haggerty and Harry Holman.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
A Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Chapel.
