Obituary

Lenora Blanche Humphries, age 92, of Summerfield, FL, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, in Lady Lake, FL.
She was born January 23, 1920, at Hurdland, MO, the daughter of James Henry and Cliffie Dale Scott Kilbride.
She was united in marriage to Claude E. Smith on April 20, 1940, and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1955. On October 6, 1962, at Rock Island, IL she married William R. Humphries and he preceded her in death on December 13, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother Francis Kilbride and one sister Margaret Mehaffy.
Surviving are one son Richard L. Smith and wife Kristy of Summerfield, FL, one brother Robert Kilbride of Morton, IL, one sister Verna Marie Hamlin and husband Roland of Hurdland, MO, one sister-in-law Mrs. Helen Brandt of Moline, IL, three grandchildren, Gina Mensay and her husband Chris of Colorado Springs, CO, Sean P. Smith and his wife Kyunga of Anchorage, AK, Kevin M. Smith of Peoria, AZ. five great grandchildren, Erin, Daniel and Gracie Mensay, Bailey Smith, Elliana Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Lenora was raised in the Hurdland community and graduated from the Hurdland High School. She and her husband, Claude lived in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa while he was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. She moved to Rock Island, IL to make her home in 1957, and was employed by the Modern Woodsmen of America as an Accounting Clerk from 1959 thru 1984.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rutledge Chapter # 343 Order of The Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge of Hurdland, MO, Auxiliary of Modern Woodsmen of America, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Woman's Club of Rock Island. Once moving to Florida in 2002, she was a member of the Fruitland Park Methodist Church.
Lenora's hobbies included playing cards, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed the times spent with her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church at Hurdland, MO. Officiating the services will be Pastor Nancy Douglas. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Burial will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hurdland, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer funeral Home in Edina, MO.
