Larry Dean Phelps, age 79, of Edina, MO, passed away Saturday, August 28, 202, in LaBelle Manor Care Center.  He was born in Mystic, IA on December 31, 1941, the son of Jesse Edwin and Mildred Marie Johnson Phelps.  He was united in marriage to Karen Ann Armstrong and she preceded him in death on June 5, 2014.  Larry was also preceded by his parents.

Surviving are five children, Scott (Flo) Phelps of Cedar Rapids, IA, Brad (Holly) Phelps of Edina, MO, Rex (Tora) Phelps of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jesse Phelps and Josh Phelps both of Arkansas, one brother Dick Dykes of Knoxville, TN, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Larry was raised in Mystic, IA where he received his education.  Larry was an over the road truck driver for over 40 years.   He enjoyed carving wood, camping, hunting and fishing.  He served his country in the United States Marines.

Larry will be cremated and no services will be held at this time.  Burial will be held later in the Elgin Cemetery at Mystic, IA.
