Larry E. McKinney, age 80 of Macon, MO formerly of Newark, MO, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023 in Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO.

He was born September 27, 1942, in Kirksville, MO the son of Dallas Elwood and Dolly Esther Pruett McKinney.  He was united in marriage to Sharon D. Miller on June 19, 1965, in Quincy, IL.

Larry is survived by his wife Sharon McKinney of Macon, MO, two daughters Angela J. (Steve) Quinn of Carterville, IL and Beth (Jeff) Skjeveland of Macon, MO, two grandchildren, Alex Quinn and Katie (Molly) Quinn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Nancy Mullins.

Larry graduated from Edina High School.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965.  Larry was employed for several years with Electric Wheel now Titan Wheel until his retirement in 2004.  Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was an avid reader especially history.   Larry was a Life member of NRA, a member of the Newark Cemetery board, Knox City American Legion and attended the Newark Christian Church.

Services will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by services at 10:30 a.m.  Officiating will be Reverend Sung Bauta.

Burial will follow services in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville, MO at 2 p.m. Friday.

Casket bearers will be Drew Barnett, John Logan, Tim Kincaid, Steve Quinn, Jeff Skjeveland, Alex Quinn, and Bill Meyer.  Honorary bearers will be Dan Vollbraght, Leroy Cardwell, Joe Don Stout and Ron Buswell.
