Obituary

Kenneth Clarence Baker, age 71, of Durham, MO, died Thursday, October 17, 2019, at his home.  He was born August 23, 1948, in Kirksville, Missouri, to Clarence Frederick Baker and Pearl Brown Baker who preceded him in death. On January 23, 1970, he was united in marriage to Maria Elvia Mesa Baker at Panama City, Panama.  She preceded him in death on March 30, 2012.  He was also preceded in death by his companion Sheri Bane and his brother, Darrel Wayne Baker (June 10, 1983).

He is survived by his sons, Kevin Robert Baker (Christine) of Durham, MO and Billy Bob Baker of LaBelle, MO, six grandchildren: Kourtni, Kyli, Devon, Hannah, Zoey and Jeremiah Baker, sister Jeanie (Eddie) Anderson, two nieces Susan (Allen) Bel-Long and Sarah Anderson, and 9 great nieces and nephews

Kenny received his education at Knox City Elementary School and Knox County R-I High School graduating in 1966.  After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone as part of the Physical Security Detachment

He went on to complete his occupational training in heating and air conditioning in Quincy, IL.  He was employed at Motorola and Peters Heating and Air Conditioning and owned an appliance store. His most recent employment was in security at Quincy Walmart.  His hobbies include raising Boston Terriers.  He was a past member of Cyril A. Graham American Legion Post No. 261 in Edina and attended Durham Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019, in the Knox City Cemetery.  Military services will be held at that time under the direction of the Missouri Funeral Honors team, the Cyril Graham American Legion Post # 261 and Knox County V.F.W. Memorial # 4822.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.

Memorials are suggested to his Grandchildren's education fund.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447.
