Kathleen Maurine Miles, age 81, of Bethel, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at her home in Bethel. Kathleen was born February 3, 1930, at Bethel, MO, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Bertha Hawkins Kirk.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Jr. Miles January 10, 1948, at Shelbyville, Missouri. Surviving are her husband Joseph Jr. Miles of Bethel, MO, seven children, James Miles, Sr. and his wife Linda of Austin, TX, Jerry Miles, Sr. and his wife Joan of Macon, MO, Barbara Fountain and husband James of Maywood, MO, Mary Pulse and husband Mike of Plevna, MO, Kevin Miles Sr. of Bethel, MO, Karen Pierce and husband John of Joplin, MO and Laurie Jones and husband James of Shelbyville, MO, fifty-six grandchildren and sixty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Kenneth Kirk, one great granddaughter Amber Miles and a daughter-in-law Sharon (Davis) Miles.
Mrs. Miles received her education in Bethel, MO. She was a farm wife and homemaker, she and her husband were engaged in farming in the Bethel area. She was employed with Green Thumb as a receptionist for NECAC at Shelbyville, MO. She loved to sew and make DVDs for her children and grandchildren. Kathleen was a member of the Bethel Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Pastor Jerry Miles, Sr. will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Prairie Cemetery north of Bethel, MO. Music will be provided by Jennifer Harlan, Liz Miles, and James Miles, Jr.
Casket bearers will be James Miles, Jr., Joey Miles, Stephen Fountain, Hank Fisher, Kevin Miles, Jr., James Jones, Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 28, 2011, from 12 noon till time of services at 2 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, Edina, MO.
