Obituary

Josephine Strange, age 94, of Knox City, MO, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
She was born September 13, 1921, near Colony, MO, the daughter of Charles Aaron and Mary Agnes Baker Parrish.
She was united in marriage to George Leroy Strange on March 13, 1940, at Knox City, MO and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1987. Josephine was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Charley and a brother Lloyd Parrish.
Surviving are five children, Donald Strange and wife Sharon of Knox City, MO, Dorothy Caley Watson of Knox City, MO, Delmar Strange and wife Sonjia of Edina, MO, Deanna Gonnerman and husband Hank of LaPlata, MO and David Strange of Knox City, twenty grandchildren, Kevin and Beth Strange, Keith and Rhonda Strange, Kent and Lori Strange, Kelli and John Pinson, Kim and Tim Penn, Kesi and Mark Glasgow, Karla Kelly, Kirk and Marty Strange, Raquel and Neil Howe, Leaha and Dale Roberts, Sheilda Hatter, Angie and Russ Hall, Christina and Brian McCartney, Jeff Strange, Kendal and Amy Gonnerman, Lisa and Richard Hawkins, John and Kim Strange, Eric Strange and friend Traci, Todd Strange, and Mark Strange, thirty-six great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and several cousins.
Josephine was raised in Knox County where she received her education in Colony and Knox City, MO. She was employed at Huffs Café in Knox City for several years, Quincy Paper Box, and had also worked at Knox County Nursing Home. She and her husband were engaged in farming north of Knox City where she resided until nine years after her husband's death, then moved to Knox City. Josephine loved the country and the beautiful flowers and things God made. She loved little children and sat on her porch and watched them play. She loved gardening and was an excellent cook. Josephine was baptized in the Colony Baptist Church at age 14 and later attended the Knox City Baptist church for twenty-eight years. Josephine also attended the Knox City Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Doug Wilson will officiate the services.
Burial will be in the Colony Cemetery. Musical selections will be Go Rest High On That Mountain, Blessed Assurance and When I Get To The End Of The Way.
Casket bearers will be grandsons, Kevin Strange, Kendall Gonnerman, John Strange, Jeff Strange, Todd Strange and Keith Strange.
Honorary bearers will be grandchildren, Kent Strange, Kelli Pinson, Kim Penn, Kesi Glasgow, Karla Kelly, Kirk Strange, Raquel Howe, Leaha Roberts, Shelida Hatter, Angie Hall, Christina McCartney, Lisa Hawkins, Eric Strange and Mark Strange.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
Memorials may be made to the LaBelle Manor, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Donor's Choice. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO, 63537.
