John L. Sharp of Lewistown, MO formerly of Knox City passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, in St. Louis, MO.

He was born in Edina, MO on November 21, 1947, to DJ and June Jones Sharp. He was raised by loving grandparents Dwight L and Maurine Shaughnessy Sharp.

He is survived by Daughter Shauna Leann Sharp of Pacific, Mo, his sister Linda O'Leary of Mokane, Mo and a niece Andrea Botkins and their two sons Ely and Alec Botkins, and a great great niece Brylee Botkins.

John is preceded in death by his grandparents, DJ Sharp, and nephews Philip J and John Brian Parrish.

John graduated from Knox County High School and attended college at Kansas University.  John returned home to Knox City to tend the family farm. He was a good family man and brother to many. John was a hard worker and very athletic participating in various sports through which he made life-long friends. Through his life he enjoyed farming, family and friends, lifting weights, hot rod cars, fishing, motorcycles, and fixing stuff. John's pride and joy was his daughter Shauna. In recent years John road his Harley Davidson motorcycle, met with friends to visit and enjoyed an occasional game of pool. John was fun to be around. He was loved and will be missed.

The family extends sincere thanks for your support and help in celebrating John's life. He will be laid to rest in Pauline Cemetery in Rutledge, MO along-side his parents. God Bless.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM. Thursday, April 13, 2017, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Burial will be in the Pauline Cemetery at Rutledge, MO.  Brother Marty Lowe will officiate the services.

Casket bearers will be Buddy Ratliff, John Spurgeon, Carl Smith, Brian Wisdom, Gary Jones and Neil Reynolds.

Honorary bearers will be Jim Parrish, Ron Crabill, Ty Miller, Hurley Johnson, David Perrigo, Tim Eubanks, Gary Waite, Richard Witherow, Scott Jansen, Ely Botkins and Alec Botkins.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 9 am till time of services at 11 AM in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
