John Dennis Harlow, age 65 of Edina, MO, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, at his farm south of Edina, MO.
He was born in Hannibal, MO, July 3, 1952, the son of John Nelson and Lawina "Tike" Barr Harlow. He was married to Vicki Logan and to this union two daughters were born. On March 7, 2009 at Kirksville, MO, he was united in marriage to Patty Harbur Murrell.
Surviving are his wife Patty Harlow of Edina, MO, his mother Tike Harlow of Edina, MO, two daughters Jill (Pete) Peleuses of Willington, N.C. and Kelly (Adam) Bozzi of Arlington, VA, two sisters Cathy (Scott) Moore of Charleston, IL and Cheryl (Mark) Solari of St. Louis, MO, four grandchildren Cole Peleuses, Nash Peleuses, Dominic Bozzi and Emilia Bozzi, three step children, Kim (Jerry) Wetzel of Seymour, IN, Billy (Denae) Murrell of Maryville, MO and Holly (Jimmy) Westmoreland of Kirksville, MO, seven step-grandchildren, Collin Coffman, Cecily Coffman, Claire Murrell, Cloie Murrell, Cambree Murrell, Carrigan Murrell and Carson Westmoreland, and several nieces. Dennis was preceded in death by his father in 2008.
Dennis graduated from Knox County High School in 1970 and was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO. Dennis was engaged in farming most all his life south of Edina, MO. Dennis was employed for several years at Cable One in Kirksville, MO. He had his real estate license and was a crop insurance adjuster. Dennis enjoyed farming, jeep rides, his horses, hunting, fishing in Belize, Costa Rica and Panama, Kansas City Chiefs and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was a member, elder, and board member at the First Christian Church in Edina, MO.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2017, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Pastor Bill Koch will officiate the services. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.
Music will be provided by Audrey Hamlin, Debbie Peters and LeAnn Hamlin singing Cross My Heart. The congregational song will be Hymn Of Promise.
Casket bearers will be Jerry Waite, Jimmy Day Waite, Brad Parsons, David Parsons, Steve Miller and Alan Rimer. Honorary bearers will be Delbert Rourke, Dud Gillaspy, Denny Gillaspy, Billy Murrell, Jimmy Westmoreland, Jerry Wetzel, Bill Aubucion, Scott Moore, Billy Aubucion, Mark Johnson, Bill Hall and Travis Trueblood.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
Memorials are suggested to the Edina First Christian Church or the Knox County Community Center. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO, 63537.
