John Gilbert Baker, age 80 of Baring, MO passed away, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his residence in Baring, MO.  Born September 8, 1936 in Knox County, MO he was the son of John Ray and Leila Faye Kenoyer Baker.

John attended rural school in Knox County.  He served in the United States Army from December 3, 1959 to March 2, 1962.  John was engaged in farming on the family farm south of Edina and was employed by the Knox County Road and Bridge District until his retirement.

Surviving are one sister, Ellen Carpenter of Davenport, IA; one niece, Judy Mayer and husband, Dennis of Monticello, MO; one nephew, Scott Carpenter and wife, Debbie of Bettendorf, IA; numerous cousins and care givers, Christy and Darlen.

It was Mr. Baker's wishes to be cremated and no services will be held.  John's cremains will be interred at a later time at Harmony Cemetery, south of Edina, MO.
