Joan Del Hogue, age 76, of Newark, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at her home in Newark, MO.
She was born April 4, 1935, at St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Roy Anthony and Adeline Anna Rucker Hoffman.
She was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Hogue, Sr. on June 30, 1951, at Overland, MO, and he preceded her in death on February 29, 1996.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one son, Donald E. Hogue, Jr., and one sister, Adeline (Toots) Lackner.
Surviving are six children, Cindy Savory and husband Steve of St. Charles, MO, Cheryl French and husband David of Warrenton, MO, James A. Hogue and wife Becky of Warrenton, MO, Richard C. Hogue and wife Shannon of Washington, MO, Sandra K. Davis and husband Ricky of Newark, MO, and Brian Hogue and wife Chris of Columbia, MO, one brother Richard Hoffman and wife Linda of St. Peters, MO, ten grandchildren, Amy, Nikki, Michael, Eric, Jimmy, Jesse, Chris, Mandy, Tyler, Nicholas, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was raised in St. Louis, Missouri where she received her education. She drove a school bus for the Special School district in St. Louis County for many years. She moved to Newark, MO in 1998, after the death of her husband.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crafts and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Reverend Mike Wilson will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery.
Musical selections will be "Wind Beneath My Wings", "Go Rest High On that Mountain", and "Holes In The Floor Of Heaven".
A special selection will be played by her great grandson Colton Savory on his Violin.
Casket bearers will be James A. Hogue, Richard C. Hogue, Brian M. Hogue, Michael W. French, Jimmy A. Hogue, Jr., and Tyler R. Davis.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 10, 2011, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for family and friends in the Hudson-Rimer funeral Home in Edina, MO.
