Obituary

Jerry Ray Wolter, age 68, of LaBelle, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, at his home in LaBelle, Missouri.
He was born in Quincy, Illinois on October 12, 1941, the son of Raymond Franklin and Elnor Vernetta McKay Wolter.
He was united in marriage to LaVeta Pflum of July 18, 1959, at Memphis, Missouri.
Surviving are four children, Jerry (Jay) Wolter Jr. of Newark, Missouri, Rose Ann Brightwell and husband Carl of LaBelle, Missouri, Gary Kent Wolter and wife Tammy of Brashear, Missouri, and Roxann Idell Lewis and husband Donnie of LaBelle, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, Brandon Jay Wolter, Jaydon Wolter, Amanda Smith and husband Scott, Amy Johnson and husband Derek, Rebecca Brightwell, Casey Strickland and husband Norm, Ashton Wolter, and Jessica, Aaron, Jared and Jeremiah Lewis and three great grandchildren Ryan Wolter, Victoria Smith, Brighton Johnson, and one on the way in September.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and in-laws William and Minnie Pflum.
Jerry was raised in Knox City, Missouri where he received his education graduating from Knox City High School. Jerry lived in the Knox City, Newark and LaBelle area all his life.
In his earlier years he was employed with Newark Rock Quarry and had also been employed at Electric Wheel and Sharkey Transportation in Quincy, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, Missouri. Reverend Tim Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Newark Cemetery.
Musical selections will be "I Can Only Imagine", "When I Get Where I'm Going" and "See You On The Other Side".
Casket bearers will be Brandon Wolter, Scott Smith, Derek Johnson, Norm Strickland, Aaron Lewis, Jared Lewis and Jeremiah Lewis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 22, 2010, after 4 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. in the Coder Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or LaBelle Library. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, Missouri, 73447.
