Jere Robert Jeffries, age 83, of Lewistown, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in Lewistown, MO.  He was born April 4, 1933, in LaGrange, MO the son of Robert Jere and Nellie Mary Lahr Jeffries.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Jeanne Kitch on May 22, 1965 in Lewistown, MO and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2014.  Mr. Jeffries was also proceeded in death by his parents.

Surviving are one son Jere Curtis Jeffries of Lewistown, MO and several cousins.  Jere lived most of his life in Lewis County.  In his earlier years he was employed as a mechanic in Quincy, IL and Lewistown, MO.  He then self employed as a truck driver until his retirement.  Jere served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, in the Steffenville Cemetery.  Officiating the services will be Reverend Ted Middleton.   Full Military honors will be held at the Cemetery conducted by Lewistown American Legion Post # 578.
