Jean Carolyn Sharpe, age 80, of Lewistown, MO, passed away Monday night, October 14, 2013 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown, MO. She was born in Hannibal, MO, on August 26, 1933, the daughter of Oris and Alice Turner. She graduated from Clarence High School where she enjoyed playing basketball for the women's team. She also played clarinet in the band. On February 17, 1951, at Harrison, AR, she was united in marriage to Chester Lee Sharpe who preceded her in death on June 5, 2011.

Love, laughter, and delicious food abounded at Jean's table. She devoted her life to her husband, children and extended family. She was happiest playing her piano, celebrating her Christian faith in song and having family and dear friends in her home.

She is survived by her children: Connie Sue Barnes and her husband David, of Lone Jack, MO; Dennis Lee Sharpe and his wife Deanna of Columbia, MO; Duane Ray Sharpe and his wife Avis of Cocoa, FL and Deborah Jean Waggoner and her husband Adam of Palmyra, MO; her grandchildren; Randy Ledbetter and his wife Jami; Robert Barnes and his wife Mary; Mike Barnes, David and Daniel Sharpe, Jennifer Pockrus and her husband Barry, Stacy and Sarah Sharpe, Nathan and Arnold Waggoner; and her great-grandchildren: Paige, Bailey, Tanner, Alexis, and Bradly; as well as other relatives and dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Delbert Turner.

Funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:30 a.m., at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Reverend Charles Sharpe will officiate the services. Music will be provided by the Heartland Community Church.
Burial will be in the Steffenville Cemetery at Steffenville, MO. Casket bearers will be David Barnes, Randy Ledbetter, Daniel Sharpe, Nathan Sharpe, Peter Toderescu and David Lee Sharpe.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 until the time of services at the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO.
