Janie Lee Gibbons, age 48, of Edina, Mo passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at home in Edina, MO. She was born January 24, 1968, in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Jim and Jeanette (Gragg) Gibbons.
Surviving are her parents Jim and Jeanette Gibbons of Edina, MO, two sisters Jana Morton and husband John of Edina, MO, and Jamie Campbell and husband Chris of Edina, MO, three nephews and one niece, Brady and Tanner Morton, Kaitlin and Ethan Campbell and several aunts and uncles.
Janie graduated from Knox County High School in 1986 and graduated from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, IA in 1988. Janie was employed for the past twenty years in customer service and currently worked for Hawkins Harrison Insurance in the accounting department as a Fiscal Service Representative. Janie was a member of the Baring Country Club, St. Joseph Catholic Church and active with the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life in Knox County. Janie was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou Tigers and enjoyed reading, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Janie touched many lives with her contagious laughter, love of life and her enormous heart. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016, after 2 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, MO. Father Colin Franklin will officiate the services. A private burial with family will be held at a later date at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
