Janet Eileen Elder, age 84, of Kirksville, MO formerly of the Baring and Greensburg community passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

She was born February 17, 1941, in Clark County, MO, the daughter of Charles William Randle and Clara Leota Belle Whitehead Randle.

She was united in marriage to Wallace R. Elder on February 13, 1960 in Wyaconda, MO, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2003.   Janet was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are four children, Darlene McClung of Kirksville, MO, Kay Mallet of Baring, MO, Carol (Greg) Rockhold of Memphis, MO, and Richard Elder of Baring, MO, two brothers William (Marilyn) Randle of Richmond, MO, Carl (Gayle) Randle of Lewistown, MO, one sister Eva (John) Erickson of Dixson, MO, two sisters-in-law Hazel Keller of Davenport, IA and Virginia Peterson of Edina, MO, 12 grandchildren, Clarence McClung, Briana McClung, Brad (Lean) Mallett, Nicholas (Emily) Mallett, Barbara McBee, Jeff McBee, Mathew (Shania) Rockhold, Amanda (Brandon) Sparrow, Brandon (Katherine) Elder, Richard Elder, Cody (Amber) Elder and Shanna Elder, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Janet graduated from Wyaconda High School.  She resided most of her life in the Baring and Greensburg community.   Janet enjoyed her cats, house plants, working out doors in the yard and spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.   Visitation will begin Saturday at 12 noon and services will follow at 2 p.m.

Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery.   Musical selections will be This World Is Not My Home, Amazing Grace and Holes In The Floor Of Heaven.

Casket bearers will be Clarence McClung, Brad Mallett, Brandon Elder, Jeff McBee, Cody Elder, Nicholas Mallett, Mathew Rockhold, Barbara McBee and Shanna Elder.

Memorials are suggested to the Greensburg Cemetery.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
