Obituary
James Richard Lay, age 74 of Goodyear, Arizona, died May 11, 2010 at Hospice of Arizona after suffering a stroke in his home April 26, 2010.
Born August 5, 1935 in Edina, Missouri he was a son of Frank B. and Lela Blaine Lay.
Richard attended Edina High School following graduation he served his country in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict. Richard lived most of his adult life in Arizona where he was a construction worker.
Mr. Lay is survived by a sister, Betty Lowe and husband, James of Edina, Missouri, a close personal friend Becky Boggs of Arizona, sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews including Debbie Mathews, Carl Lowe and Ron (Donna) Lowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Donald, Robert and Carl and a sister Carol Arehart.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri with Reverend Reese Blaine officiating the service. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, Missouri at a later date. Memorials in memory of Mr. Lay may be made to the American Heart Association. The memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537
