Noble Jack Bishop age 74, of Edina, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
He was born in Edina, MO on March 18, 1938, the son of Noble Lee and Velma Lee Kidwell Bishop. He was united in marriage to Mary Hamlin on October 28, 1960, at Edina, MO.
Surviving are his wife Mary Bishop of Edina, MO, three children, Julie Smith and Jack of Pensacola, FL, Nancy Dixson and Alan of Edina, MO, Ryan Bishop and Brooke of Edina, MO, six grandchildren Evan Glasgow and Miranda, Haley Crellin and Kyle, Bryce Dixson and Katie, Whitney Dixson, Paige and Preslie Bishop, three great grandchildren, Hallie Glasgow, Gus and Olivia Crellin, two brothers Mike Bishop and Carol Lee of Edina, MO, Dan Bishop and Judi of Baring, MO, four sisters, Donna Stockham and fiancée Bruce Normile of Baring, MO, Sue Johnson and Dick of Baring, MO, Janice McGinnis and Mike of Edina, MO, and Brenda Beckner and Mike of Corydon, IA, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, one brother J.W. Bishop, one nephew Chris Bishop, one brother-in-law Kenneth Stockham, one sister-in-law Judy Bishop.
Jack graduated from Edina High School in 1956. In 1957, he began employment with the United States Postal Service in Edina and later Gorin, Memphis and Kirksville, MO. He served as Post Master at Novinger, MO for eleven years retiring in 1992. Jack was a member of Edina Masonic Lodge # 291, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbia, and the Moila Shrine Temple at St. Joseph, MO. He faithfully attended the First Christian Church in Edina, MO, loved hunting, collecting coins, arrowheads, stamps and spending time with family and friends.
Jack's wishes were to be cremated. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
Masonic Services will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, by Edina Lodge # 291 A.F. & A.M. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held 10 A.M. Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home at Edina, MO. The Reverend Dewayne Wellborn will officiate the services.
Music will be provided by Kathy Libmann and Mary Lynn Baucom.
Honorary bearers will be Frank Poore, Mike Fox, Von Snow, Dick Woods, Brian Banks and Mark Parrish.
